Typically, an aesthetic technician or a medical professional, dependent on where the treatment is given, utilizes a specially designed microdermabrasion machine. Connected to the machine is a hand piece or wand. The hand piece has two lines, one line blows the fine crystals onto the skin's surface and the vacuum would suction the waste crystals and other debris away from the skin's surface. The technician makes steady and controlled passes over the skin's surface with the hand piece. Most microdermabrasion machine units allow the operator to control the vacuum pressure, the flow of crystals of the hand piece which determines the degree of skin abrasion that occurs within a treatment.
